Juventus Set To Sign Lyon Midfielder

Juventus have become front-runners in the race to land the Lyon star, Houssem Aouar

Over time, 21-year-old Olympique Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar has been rated as one of the most talented youngsters around and has attracted big-name suitors across Europe, with the likes of Liverpool, Barcelona and Manchester City amongst others, keen on get his signature

This season however, Lyon are reportedly ready to cash in on the midfielder, as they expect to be hit financially due to failing to qualify for neither the UEFA Champions League nor Europa League. With Miralem Pjanić set to leave Juventus for La Liga giant Barcelona, and Chelsea reluctant in allowing Jorginho reunite with his “Football father” Maurizio Sarri, the Bianconeri have turned their attention to Houssem Aouar, who can play both as a central midfielder or defensive midfielder.

Both Manchester City and Juventus are leading candidates in pursuit of the French youth international, but with the Manchester club’s imposing ban from the UEFA Champions League, Juventus have quickly become front-runners and are set land the Lyon star according to Goal.

Aouar has been in impressive form this season, scoring nine goals and seven assists in all competitions, but this has not helped Lyon’s poor form, as they sit 7th in the Ligue 1.
