Real Madrid have scorned the opportunity to sign Willian from Chelsea.
The Brazilian winger is available on a free transfer this summer with his current deal at Stamford Bridge due to expire on June 30th, but, although they were offered the chance to sign him, the Spanish club have decided to pass because they are unwilling to offer him a three year deal.
Reports coming out of Spain suggest that Real will not be making any transfer deals this summer involving money because of the financial situation that they are in because of the coronavirus crisis and its impact on their revenue, but, even on a free, they have passed on a player whom Zinedine Zidane admires.
Tottenham and Arsenal have also been linked with a move for the winger, but they too have financial worries, whilst talks about a new deal at Chelsea have similarly foundered on the proposed contract length.
