Frank Lampard wants to freshen up his squad by adding new faces in the summer.
Hakim Ziyech will already be joining the club after his £37.4 million transfer from Ajax, having agreed the move back in February, but his new manager is hoping that he will be joined by other additions as well.
The Moroccan is the first new player to join the club since January 2019 because of the UEFA transfer ban that was imposed on them for signing ineligible under-18 players. That was lifted in time for the last transfer window, but Chelsea failed to identify any suitable targets in January, with Ziyech signed after the deadline.
Now though, with wingers Willian and Pedro both set to leave on free transfers when their current deals run out, the club is looking for reinforcements for next season, to supplement the clutch of exciting young players which are getting their opportunity under Lampard.
