Despite competing with them for a European place, Manchester United are prepared to let goalkeeper Dean Henderson see out his loan spell with Sheffield United.
The 23 year old’s current loan deal at Bramall Lane ends on June 30th, but with the season now expected to extend into the summer, Manchester United had the option to recall him to Old Trafford, potentially weakening one of their main rivals for a Champions League place.
Instead, he will be allowed to continue until the end of the season in South Yorkshire, although he will not be allowed to line-up for them when the visit Old Trafford in one of the remaining fixtures.
Henderson is in his second season on loan with Sheffield United, He helped them win promotion from the Championship last season, and his impressive form on their return to the top flight has helped them mount their surprise challenge for European football next season.
