La Liga side Valencia want to take Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan next season.
When the Stamford Bridge side paid Athletic Bilbao £71.4 million for him in July 2018, Kepa became the most expensive goalkeeper in the world, eclipsing the sum that Liverpool paid Roma for Alisson Becker that same summer.
Yet, whilst the Brazilian has flourished in the Premier League, Kepa has struggled, and was dropped by Frank Lampard earlier this season after a series of high profile mistakes.
Prior to the shutdown, Willy Caballero had been preferred in goal but, although the veteran has just signed a one year contract extension, he is now 38 and not regarded as a long-term solution.
One potential replacement is Ajax keeper André Onana, and that could signal a three way exchange of stoppers, with current Valencia keeper Jasper Cillessen moving back to the Dutch club, leaving a vacancy for Kepa to fill.
