Striker Odion Ighalo may have played his last game for Manchester United.
The 30 year old Nigerian international was signed on deadline day in the January window from Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua on loan. And he made a good start to his stay at Old Trafford, scoring four goals in eight appearances before the lockdown.
However, unlike most loan deals, his is due to end on May 31st, and, with no breakthrough in negotiations between the two clubs, he could soon be on his way back to China.
Ighalo has previously spoken of his desire to stay at United, and has even been prepared to take a pay cut to do so. However, whilst the Chinese club are prepared to discuss a permanent move, United are only interested in a short-term arrangement. Once the May 31st deadline has passed he will be Shanghai-bound once more.
