Chelsea have been linked with a move for striker Luca Waldschmidt who plays for Bundesliga side Freiburg.
Manager Frank Lampard is looking to bring in two new strikers in the summer. He wants to sell Michy Batshuayi, whilst Olivier Giroud is out of contract. The 33 year old French World Cup winner has yet to sign a new deal, and there are reports that he has already agreed personal terms on a move to Inter Milan.
And now Lampard has turned his attention to Waldschmidt, who drew favourable comparisons with West German and Bayern Munich legend Gerd Müller, when playing for Germany in the European under-21 championship in Italy last year, scoring 7 goals in four games.
The 23 year old has subsequently broken through into the full German national side, winning two caps so far.
Chelsea have been tracking Waldschmidt for some time, and believe he could be even better if he learns how to properly use his physical attributes.
