Barcelona have ended their interest in Chelsea winger Willian who is available on a free transfer this season.
The Catalans had long been linked with a move for the Brazilian and tried to sign him two years ago, but failed with a £60 million bid.
After failing to agree on a new deal at Stamford Bridge, the 31 year old was once more associated with a move to the Nou Camp, but now the Spanish club have decided to turn their attention elsewhere because of his high wage demands, preferring to focus on younger and cheaper players.
This now leaves the player in limbo. Whilst he has previously said that he is willing to end the season with Chelsea, even beyond the end of his contractual period, he is not willing to agree new terms with them – he wants a three year deal and they are only willing to offer him two.
