Manchester United are considering a swap deal involving Matthijs de Ligt and Paul Pogba.
Central defender de Ligt moved to Juventus last summer in a £67.5 million deal from Ajax, but his stay at the Serie A side has not gone well so far, and he has struggled to adapt to life in Serie A, making just 15 league appearances this season. Knee and shoulder problems have also impaired his progress.
United were interested in acquiring his services last summer, but refused to enter into a bidding war and backed away, going for Harry Maguire instead.
However, with Paul Pogba widely expected to leave Old Trafford in the summer, they are hoping some sort of player exchange can be negotiated, especially as former club Juventus, along with Real Madrid, are talked of as possible destinations for the Frenchman.
Their hopes are also boosted by the fact that de Ligt and Pogba share the same agent, Mino Raiola.
