Chelsea are confident that that can sign Leicester City and England full-back ben Chilwell in the summer.
The Stamford Bridge club are in the running for a new left-back, with Marcos Alonso linked with a move back to Italy, and captain César Azpilicueta forced to fill in there several times this season.
And they believe that 23 year old Chilwell would be an ideal candidate to fill the berth, although it is likely to set them back a considerable sum to land him.
Leicester are well backed by their Thai owners, and are under no pressure to sell him, with reports suggesting that they will demand the same money – £80 million – as they received from Manchester United for harry Maguire last year.
Despite this Chelsea believe that playing for them is an attractive proposition and that Chilwell is excited by the prospect of such a move. A product of the Leicester academy, Chilwell has established himself as an England regular, winning 11 caps under Gareth Southgate.
