Manchester United are interested in signing veteran defender Diego Godin in the summer.
The 34 year old made his name under Diego Simeone at Atlético Madrid, where he formed part of one of the meanest defences in Europe. After spending a decade in Spain though, he joined Inter Milan at the start of this season, but has failed to impress in Italy, and new manager Antonio Conte is willing to let him go, despite the fact he is under contract until 2022.
This not the first time that United have been linked with him. They were one of a group of clubs chasing his signature last year before he finally opted for Inter.
Despite his age, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes that Godin, who has 135 caps for Uruguay, can bring some much needed experience and guile to the United defensive line.
They are likely to face competition from La Liga side Valencia though.
