With the future of club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in doubt, Arsenal may be ready to mount a bid for Celtic striker Odsonne Edoaurd in the summer.
Aubameyang has been Arsenal’s leading scoring since signing from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018. However, is out of contract in June 2021, and has refused to sign the new deal on offer to him because he wants to play Champions League.
Now they are prepared reluctantly to sell him at the end of the season, rather than repeat previous mistakes and allow him to run his contract down and leave for free.
This means that they are in the market for a replacement, and £30 million rated Edouard could fit the bill.
The 22 year old has enjoyed an excellent season for Celtic scoring 27 goals and providing 19 assists in all competitions before the halt to the proceedings, and the Scottish champions are reconciled to the fact that a bigger club will come in for him some time.
