William vows to complete season with Chelsea

Brazilian winger Willian has promised that he will keep playing for Chelsea even if the season is extended beyond the end of his contract with the club.

The 31 year old’s current deal at Stamford Bridge ends on 30th June, and he has turned down the offer of a new contract because they are not willing to guarantee him enough years.

He has regularly been linked with a move to Barcelona and, more recently, with a switch across town to either Arsenal or Tottenham, with his family reportedly keen to stay in London.

However, with the possibility now of the Premier League season extending into the summer months in order to complete the season after the coronavirus pandemic, he has made it clear that he will help his current club complete the campaign, even I technically that will take him beyond the expiry date of his contractual obligations to them.

He told Brazilian TV “And if I had to play on those dates, in these months, I think it would be no problem for me to end the League in a way which would be loyal to the club, as they always were with me.”
