Chelsea are the favourites to sign former Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho in the summer.
The 27 year old Brazilian moved to Barcelona from Anfield for £142 million in January 2018, but he has failed to make the expected impact at the Nou Camp, and was sent on a year-long loan to Bayern Munich at the start of this season.
Although he has performed adequately enough for the German champions, they have not seen enough to make them want to exercise their option to make the loan permanent, and he is likely to return to Spain at the end of the season.
And with the Catalan club looking to spend big to help rebuild their squad, they are willing to sell the Brazilian international to raise funds. That puts Chelsea in pole position to sign him, although the fee is likely to be considerably less than Liverpool got for him more than two years ago.
