Arsenal have held talks with Swedish club Hammarby over a possible move for their 16 year old striker Emil Roback.
Bayern Munich have also expressed an interest in the teenager who is tipped for big things in his native country.
Confirming the talks, Hammerby chief Jasper Jansson said “He has also been to Arsenal, I understand the interest.”
The Swedish under-17 international has already visited the Arsenal and taken part in a training session as well as being given a tour of the facilities.
Roback is described as quick and strong, with a good physique and already has an eye for goal, although he has yet to play a senior first team match for his club.
Arsenal’s pursuit of Roback is being led by Edu, their Technical Director, who is in charge of identifying transfer targets for both the first team and the academy. He is the man widely credited with plucking Gabriel Martinelli out of the fourth tier of Brazilian football and bringing him to the Emirates.
