Former Manchester United skipper Ashley Young only arrived in Italy in January, but he has already done enough with his new club Inter Milan to earn a new deal.
The 34 year old was initially signed on a six month deal, with an option for a further 12 months, and now Inter look to be on the verge of exercising that option after he made a strong start in Serie A.
The former England international scored once and provided two assists in five appearances before the Serie A season was cut short because of the coronavirus.
He appears to have adapted well to his new surroundings, and is amongst familiar faces, with former United team mates Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez both at the club. Like Young, Lukaku has flourished in Italy, and had scored 25 goals in 35 goals before football paused. Sanchez though has struggled and looks likely to return to Old Trafford at the end of the season.
