Arsenal have slapped a £50 million price tag on their captain Pierre-Emerick Aubaemyang, amidst interest from both Barcelona and PSG.
The 30 year-old Gabonese striker has been offered a new deal at the Emirates but, with Champions League qualification for the Gunners next season only a distant possibility, he has turned down the terms on offer.
Now the Gunners are ready to make the difficult decision to sell him in the summer, despite his importance to the team in terms of the number of goals he scores. Mindful though of the example of players who have been allowed to run down their contracts in the past and leave for free, Arsenal are determined not to make the same mistake this time, but they will demand a substantial fee for the man that they signed from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018.
Since moving to the Emirates, Aubameyang has scored 61 goals in 96 appearances.
