The future of Willian at Chelsea remains uncertain and negotiations are continuing with the Brazilian.
The 31 year old winger is out of contract in the summer, and it had widely been assumed that he would be leaving the club, after refusing to sign a new deal.
However, according to an interview that he gave to Brazilian media last week, the situation is more nuanced than that.
Willian wants to sign a new three year deal at Chelsea, whereas, so far they have only offered him a new two year deal.
Now his manager Frank Lampard has stated that talks with Willian are “an ongoing conversation” and that it is by no means certain he will be leaving Samford Bridge at the end of the season.
Willian has been starting from the bench in recent matches, and only came on in the second half against Bournemouth on Saturday, although he then helped rescue a point for Lampard’s side.
