Veteran goalkeeper Ben Foster has been linked with a surprise move to Spurs.
Foster’s contract at Vicarage Road Is coming to an end this summer, and now Tottenham are considering signing the 36 year old former England international on a free transfer as they seek an experienced back-up for Hugo Lloris.
Foster has not missed a league game for Watford since joining them from West Brom in the summer of 2018.
Paolo Gazziniga deputised for two months of the season after Lloris was injured at Brighton, but the Argentine failed to make his case for permanent consideration for the job. Meanwhile, Michel Vorm who was re-signed at the start of the season has not made a single appearance this season, either under Mauricio Pochettino or Jose Mourinho.
Foster was in impressive form once more on Saturday evening when Watford brought Liverpool’s 44 unbeaten run in the Premier League to an end, keeping a clean sheet whilst his forwards put three past the league leaders at the other end.
