Nemanja Matic is happy to stay at old Trafford.
That is despite the fact that the 31 year old Serbian midfielder is out of contract with Manchester United in the summer, and has yet to sign a new deal.
Matic fell out of favour at the club and was amongst the players blamed for their inconsistent early season form. He then suffered a knee injury, which kept him on the side-lines. However, since his return to the team they have kept nine clean sheets in 15 games, including the 3 – 0 win against Watford in Sunday.
It was expected in some quarters that Matic, who cost the club £40 million when they signed him from Chelsea in 2017, would try and engineer a move away from the club in January, but for now he is content to remain, even if his side in the starting line-up is threatened by the return to fitness of Scott MnTominay.
