Olivier Giroud has received a firm contract offer from Lazio.
The Chelsea striker’s current deal at Stamford Bridge ends at the end of the season, which means that he has been free to enter into pre-contract negotiations with foreign clubs since January.
Lazio are the first side to make a concrete move but Giroud has a number of options on the tale and has yet to make up his mind.
The World Cup winner was offered the chance to join LA Galaxy during the last window, but French manager Didier Deschamps advised against a move to the MLS if he wanted to be considered for hi Euro 2020 squad.
He also had hopes of a switch to Inter Milan with former manager Antonio Conté reported to be interested in re-signing him, but nothing materialised in the end, and moves from other potential suitors for the striker were blocked by Chelsea because they were not able to identify a suitable replacement.
