Arsenal midfielder Robbie Burton is to join Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb in a permanent move.
The 20 year old was a surprise inclusion on the club’s pre-season tour of America last season, but, such is the competition for places at the Emirates, he has not been able to make the breakthrough to the first team, and has decided that his future lies elsewhere, despite captaining the under-23 side this season.
He was also an unused substitute in their Carabao Cup win against Nottingham Forest earlier this season, and formed part of the squad that travelled to Liege for a Europa Cup game against Standard before Christmas.
Although born in Gravesend, Burton qualifies for Wales through his grandfather, and has won 8 caps at under-21 level for them.
In a deal that could eventually net the Gunners £800,000 Burton will become the first British player to feature for Dimano, who are once again leading the Croatian league.
