18 year old full-back Neco Williams Is set to be offered a new long-term contract by Liverpool after impressing in cup games for Jurgen Klopp’s team this season.
The academy graduate is currently under contract until 2021, but Liverpool now want him to sign a long-term deal which will include a substantial pay rise for the Welsh under-19 international.
Williams signed his first professional terms at Anfield last January, and made his debut in the Carabao Cup tie with Arsenal earlier this season, setting up a goal for Divock Origi in the 5 – 5 draw which Liverpool eventually won on penalties.
He was then given his chance in the FA Cup, appearing in the wins over Everton and Shrewsbury, and has earned praise from those at the club for his ability and attitude, and will understudy Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Williams is expected to sign his new deal before his 19th birthday in April.
