Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana wants to join Chelsea in the summer.
The 23 year old Cameroon international has been linked with a clutch of top European clubs, including Tottenham, Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain. However, his preferred destination is Stamford Bridge, with current number one stopper Kepa Arribalabaga future in considerable doubt after he was dropped by manager Frank Lampard for the trip to Leicester City last weekend.
The 25 year old Spaniard has failed to justify his price tag as the world’s most expensive keeper, and was benched by Lampard after a series of underwhelming performances.
Whilst he is determined to regain his place and feels that the criticism is unjustified, Chelsea now have the rest of the season to decide if they are going to stick with the £71.6 million buy from Athletic Bilbao, or cut their losses, sell him, and replace him with somebody else, like Onana.
