Juventus want to sign Liverpool’s Virgil van Dyck in the summer and are prepared to pay a world record sum to get their man.
Van Dyck, the European Footballer of the Year, cost Liverpool £75 million when they signed him from Southampton in January 2018. Now the Serie A club are willing to double that, and hope that the prospect of a new challenge would entice him to swap Merseyside for Turin.
The 28 year old Dutch international has already won the Champions League, the European Super Cup and the Club World Cup during his time with Liverpool, and the Premier League title is now surely a matter of when not if, after their 4 – 0 drubbing of Southampton put them 22 points clear at the top of the table.
Juventus are desperate to end their long wait for the Champions League and are hoping that van Dijk could be the missing part of the jigsaw.
