Cedric Soares joined Arsenal on loan from Southampton until the end of the season until deadline day, and, with the Portuguese international out of contract at St. Mary’s in the summer, that puts the Gunners in pole position to sign him full-time if he performs sufficiently well during his time at the Emirates.
However, one full-back who will not be joining the club is PSG’s Layvin Kurzawa, despite reports that he was about to sign a long-term contact with the club. Now it has emerged that although Technical Director was heavily involved in moves to bring the left-back to North London, the deal was vetoed by manager Mikel Arteta, who did not believe that Kurwaza could help his team in anyway.
Arsenal already have two experienced left-backs in the shape of Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac, currently both injured, but, in their absence, stand-in Bakayo Saka has been a revelation both in defence and attack.
