Tottenham’s 17 year old striker Troy Parrott has been linked with a loan move to Championship side Charlton Athletic.
The Irish international is highly rated at White Hart Lane and some Tottenham supporters had urged him to be given a chance in the first-team in the absence of Harry Kane. However, his manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that although he could get a few minutes “I don’t think he’s ready at all”.
Instead, a move to Charlton offers Parrott the chance for regular first-team football in a competitive environment which can only help the development of the teenager who has made two first-team appearances this summer.
Charlton have earned a reputation for nurturing young talent, a case in being Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher who spent the first part of the season there, making 26 appearances, before being recalled and sent on another loan to Swansea for the rest of the season.
