Newcastle are considering taking England full-back Danny Rose on loan for the rest of the season.
Rose has lost his place in the first-team at White Hart Lane under Jose Mourinho, with reports emerging over the weekend of a furious training ground row between the player and his manager over his availability to travel to Watford with the team on Saturday.
Since Mourinho has been in charge, Rose has started only one Premier League game for Spurs, with Mourinho switching Jan Vertonghen from centre-half to play at full-back and Ryan Sessegnon also in contention for the role.
Newcastle are in the market for a new left-back after Dutchman Jetro Williams suffered a season-ending injury in the win over Chelsea on Saturday evening, stretchered off after rupturing his cruciate ligament.
The 25 year old was on a season-long loan from Bundesliga side Frankfurt, and had hoped to make the switch into a permanent move in the summer.
