Liverpool have been linked with a move for 19 year old Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali, who currently plays for Serie A side Brescia, and who helped his side gain promotion to the top tier at the end of last season.
His impression form has seen him linked with a number of top European clubs, with Juventus amongst the favourites to sign him,, but the Italian press are reporting that Anfield could be an alternative destination as Jurgen Klopp looks to the future.
Tonali has been compared to another ex-Brescia player, Andrea Pirlo, who went on to have a glittering career with AC Milan, Juventus, and the Italian national team.
Tonali, who has already won three senior caps for his country, is valued at £43 million by Brescia’s owner, Massimo Cellini, who previously owned Leeds United. Cellini claimed that Liverpool contacted him about the player last year, and they have sent scouts to watch him play again recently.
