Despite suggestions to the contrary, Inter Milan have yet to table a formal offer for Christian Eriksen.
The fate of the Danish playmaker has been in dispute for some time. He first indicated after Tottenham’s Champions League final defeat to Liverpool in June that he wanted a new challenge, and he was widely linked with a move away from the club last summer.
That is according to his current manager Jose Mourinho, who has confirmed that he is set to play for the club in their Saturday lunchtime kick-off against Watford at Vicarage Road.
Out of contract next summer, he has refused to sign a new contract at White Hart Lane.
However, despite reports that Inter had made an opening bid of £13 million for the player, and had agreed personal terms with him, Mourinho downplayed them saying “if they are confident, they are confident because they are ready to make an offer, which didn’t happen yet”.
New signing Gedson Fernandes could also play at Watford, after his loan move from Benfica.
