Atlético Madrid have been linked with a move for Arsenal striker Alexander Lacazette, if they fail to land their main transfer target, PSG’s Edison Cavani.
The Spanish club desperately need to find a solution to their goal scoring problem, having only found the net in La Liga twenty times this season so far, and are in the market for a proven striker, as they seek to mount a title challenge in the second part of the campaign.
With PSG refusing to sell Cavani in January, despite the Uruguayan being out of contract in the summer, they may turn their attention to Lacazette instead, who has previously been linked with them.
Lacazette has not been in the best of form this season having only scored five times, but, given that Arsenal’s main striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is set to miss the next three games with the red card he picked up at Crystal Palace, it is difficult to envisage Arsenal bosses allowing him to leave the club at this juncture.
