Chelsea have completed their first signing of the January window – although it is not the big name many have been expecting.
Instead it is 16 year old Norwegian striker Bryan Fiobema who has joined the club from Tromsø whilst impressing on trial with the West London side in December. According to the Norwegian press he put pen to paper at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground to a three and a half year deal, and then met the players ahead of their Premier League clash with Burnley at the weekend.
At this stage, it is a written agreement, but that will then translate into a professional contract when he turns 17 next month – his birthday is on February 16th.
There has been no official confirmation from Chelsea yet, but that is expected in the coming days.
Fiobema is Chelsea’s first signing since their UEFA transfer ban was lifted, following a successful appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
