Arsenal defender Dinos Mavropanos has moved to Germany, joining Bundesliga 2 side FC Nūrnberg on loan.
The interest was first confirmed by Bild who reported that Nūrnberg have pipped a number of other German clubs to his signature, including Werder Bremen, Hannover, and Stuttgart.
The 22 year old Greek has played only once for the Gunners this season, the 2 -2 draw with Standard Liege in the Europa League, and needs to move desperately if he is to get regular first-team football.
One of the last signings of Arsène Wenger’s reign, Mavropanos made a favourable impact in his first few games for Arsenal, but a red card at Leicester proved to be the first of several setbacks, with a series of groin injuries hampering his subsequent progress. In fact, he has missed more than seven months of his time in North London with injury.
He underwent a medical in Germany on Monday, ahead of the formalities being confirmed.
