Manchester United are interested in signing Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes again.
The Premier League side spent most of last summer being associated with a move for the 25 year old Portuguese international, with Tottenham another club linked with him. In the end through, United decided not to pursue their interest, amidst concerns about how often he gave the ball away/
However, with fans clamouring for some activity in the transfer window, United are set to rekindle their interest, who is available for £60 million,
And reports from Portugal suggest that United have offered two players as makeweights in the deal, one of whom is Marcus Rojo who joined United from Sporting in 2014. There are concerns, however, that Rojo’s wage demands could prove to be a stumbling block to any deal.
The manager of Sporting appears reconciled to the idea of losing Fernandes, who he described as the best player in the Portuguese league, saying “I don’t like to think about that beforehand, but I’m starting to think of alternatives within our team if Bruno doesn’t stay with us.”.
