Tottenham are on the verge of completing a £28 million deal to sign Polish striker Krzysztof Piatek from AC Milan.
The North London club have been forced in to the transfer market after the news that talisman Harry Kane will be out of action until April , with the hamstring injury he picked up in the league defeat to Southampton requiring surgery. And, with Lucas Moura also struggling with injury, they find themselves in desperate need of reinforcements in the forward line.
Piatek joined AC Milan from Genoa midway through last season, making an instant impact, scoring 11 goals in 21 appearances. He has found it harder this campaign in a struggling team, netting just four goals in Serie A. However, he is able to play for Spurs in the Champions League, and they have beaten off competition from Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, and Newcastle United, who were all interested in signing him as well.
