Olivier Giroud’s agent, Michael Manuello, has met with directors from Inter Milan in order to try and arrange a permanent transfer for his client to the Serie A side.
It has been suggested that personal terms have already been agreed on a contract that will run until 2022, but talks between Inter Milan and Chelsea are still continuing, and there is no agreement yet in place between the two clubs.
A fee of £10 million for the ex-Arsenal man, who is out of contract at Stamford Bridge in the summer, is likely.
The news will come as a blow to the clutch of Premier League sides who are all interested in signing him, with West Ham, Aston Villa and Newcastle United all monitoring his situation. Giroud, who is only the third choice striker at Chelsea behind Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi, has been urged to leave the club by his national team manager Didier Deschamps.
