Manchester United captain Ashley Young is on the verge of joining Inter Milan, having agreed terms with the Serie A club.
The 34 year old skipper was left out of the United side that slumped to a 3 – 1 home defeat to neighbours Manchester City in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
Young is out of contract at Old Trafford in the summer, and has been widely expected to leave the club, with no new deal on the table, and with younger players available to play in his position – Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-back, and Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams competing for the left-back slot.
Inter manager Antonio Conte is a fan of Young, and is willing to offer him an 18 month deal to join the Serie A club, and the chance to hook up with former United team mates Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez.
