Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard has begun working with super-agent Mino Raiola, who is keen to acquire more English clients.
The news is unwelcome to United, who already enjoy a fractious relationship with Raiola, who is the agent of Paul Pogba, continually linked with a move away from the club. And things became even more strained when United attempted to cut him out of the deal to sign one of his clients, Erling Haaland, from Red Bull Salzburg.
United eventually backed away from that deal, in part because of Raiola’s demands and they will be wary now that he has begun to work with Lingard, with reports already emerging suggesting he may be looking for a transfer elsewhere.
Meanwhile Lingard’s manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has ordered Lingard to cut down his use of social media and to concentrate on his football instead, having gone a year without either a goal or an assist.
