Inter Milan are the latest club to be linked with a move for Paul Pogba amidst speculation that he may have played his last game for Manchester United.
It follows comments made by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after his side’s defeat to Arsenal, in which he suggested that representatives of the payer, rather than the club themselves, had suggested he needs surgery to cure his long-standing injury problems.
Having been linked with Real Madrid since the summer, the Spanish club are no longer interested in signing him, with a return of the Frenchman to Serie A now looking likely.
His former club Juventus were the early favourites to sign him, but now Inter Milan, their main titles for the Serie A crown this year may have edged ahead, with suggestions that a gentleman’s agreement between Inter and Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, has already been agreed.
However, with the fee apparently being discussed of £76.8 million representing a considerable discount on the £89 million United paid Juventus for him it remains to be seen if they are prepared to sanction such a loss on the deal.
