Mourinho outlines Tottenham transfer plans

Jose Mourinho has insisted that Tottenham need to be intelligent in the current transfer window and that there are no quick fixes.

Whilst the Portuguese would like to overhaul his squad at White hart Lane, he also recognises that there are limitations on what he can do in the short-term, restrictions that were made clear to him before he succeeded Mauricio Pochettino in November, It means, therefore, that, before there can be any significant incomings in January, players need to be offloaded first to make way.

One player in particular that may soon he headed for the exit door is Christian Eriksen, with suggestions that the Dane is close to a move to Inter Milan. The midfielder is out of contract at Spurs in the summer, and, having turned down the offer of a new deal at the club, Tottenham would rather sell him now rather than allow him to leave for free in six months’ time.
