The signing of Erland Haaland by Borussia Dortmund has increased the likelihood that Jadon Sancho will leave the German club in January, with Chelsea his preferred destination.
Dortmund beat a host of clubs, including Manchester United, to the signature of the Red Bull Salzburg striker, but the repercussions of the move are likely to benefit another Premier League side.
That is because Sancho, who was born in Camberwell, and was part of the Watford academy system, before moving on to Manchester City, where he first made his name, wants to return to London, and Chelsea are the only club in the capital that can afford him.
The 19 year old England winger will likely cost in the region of £100 million, and Chelsea, who are free to sign players again after their transfer ban was lifted, are reported to have a £150 million war chest to spend in the January window.
