Chelsea want to offer a new deal to right-back Tariq Lamptey.
The 19 year old from Hillingdon is another graduate of their academy, and made his debut on Sunday when he came on as a substitute in the second-half at the Emirates on Sunday, helping his side turn around a one goal deficit to win with two goals in the last ten minutes.
Now manager Frank Lampard is hoping that involvement with the first team will convince the England under-20 international, who is out of contract next summer, to sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge.
His appearance made him the seventh academy player to play in the first team at Chelsea under Frank Lampard’s stewardship, the others Fikayo Tomori, Mason Mount, Reece James, Billy Gilmour, Ian Maatsen, and Marc Guehi.
Chelsea already have two right-backs in the form of club captain César Azpilicueta and Reece James, so Lamptey will need to be convinced he will get enough first-team chances given the competition he faces.
