Paul Pogba has been told by Real Madrid that they are not interested in signing him in January.
That will come as a disappointment to the 26 year old French World Cup winner, who agitated for a move last summer, and was strongly linked with a transfer to the Bernabeu.
His agent Mino Raiola has been in contact with Real to try and facilitate the move, but the Spanish club have cooled their interest because of the emergence of midfielder Federico Valverde – at least for the time being.
On the pitch, meanwhile, Pogba made his long-awaited return from injury on Sunday, when he appeared for United as a 64th minute substitute for Jesse Lingard. However, with his side already two-nil down at that stage, he was unable to effect a turn-around, as bottom-side Watford claimed their first home victory of the season under new manager Nigel Pearson.
