Swansea City are in pole position to sign Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster on loan for the second half of the season.
The 19 year old is highly rated at Anfield, but having been told by Jurgen Klopp to stay and fight for his place at the start of the season, the German has recently changed his mind and admitted that the teenager may need to go somewhere else on loan for a period in order to continue his development.
A clutch of clubs are interested in him, amongst them Leeds United, Sheffield Wednesday, Huddersfield Town and Preston, as well as Crystal Palace, although the fact that the South London side cannot guarantee him first-team football is likely to count against them.
However, Championship side Swansea City have emerged as favourites to land him because their manager Steve Cooper has a prior relationship with Brewster, having managed him when he was part of the under-17 England side that won the World Cup in India two years ago.
