19-year old Angel Gomes has fuelled speculation that he wants to leave Manchester United by removing all reference to the club from his social media accounts.
He made his first-team debut as a 16 year old in May 2017, signing his first professional contract a few months later, but, since then, his progress has stalled at Old Trafford, and, with his current deal expiring next summer, he could be set to move on in his search for regular first-team action.
Gomes has played only four times for the club this season, with his Premier League exposure limited to just nine minutes. He was not even part of the squad for the Europa League victory over AZ Alkmaar last week, although he is hoping to be included for this week’s Carabao Cup quarter-final against Colchester United.
He is free to talk to foreign clubs in January, and both Barcelona and Real Madrid are keeping tracks on his situation.
