Tierney injury may force Arsenal transfer move

Arsenal could be forced into the transfer market In January to sign a replacement for Kiernan Tierney after it was confirmed that the Scottish international will miss three months of the season with a shoulder injury.

The 22-year old, who only joined Arsenal in the summer from Celtic in a £25 million deal, has not enjoyed the best of starts with his new club, with a long-standing groin injury delaying him making his debut for the Gunners until late September.

He was making just his third Premier League start for the club away at West Ham on Monday night when, with less than 30 minutes played, he went down in the box after an innocuous looking challenge from Michael Antonio, clutching his shoulder.

Having sold Nacho Monreal in the summer, Sead Kolasinac is the only other senior recognised left-back at the club, and he was injured in the home defeat to Manchester City on Sunday, meaning that the side may need to sign defensive cover for that position.
