Serie A champions Juventus have made contact with Chelsea about the availability of winger Willian in the January transfer window.
The 31 year old is out of contract at Stamford Bridge next summer, which means that he is free to talk to agents of foreign clubs in the New Year. Manager Frank Lampard wants the Brazilian international to sign a new deal with the club, but as yet there have been no progress in this matter.
Juventus are managed by former Blues’ boss Maurizio Sarri who wants to recruit him to boost their title challenge in the second half of the season, with his side currently trailing Inter Milan, led by another ex-Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte, at the top of Serie A.
However, Chelsea are unlikely to let Willian go without finding a replacement, and still harbour hopes that he will extend his stay in West London beyond this season.
