Manchester United’s owners, the Glazer family, have told manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that his job is safe, and that they have no intention to bring in Mauricio Pochettino as his replacement.
The Norwegian has had to endure endless speculation about the safety of his tenure, after the club’s indifferent start to the season, especially since Pochettino became available after he was dismissed by Tottenham last month.
The club have publicly backed Solskjaer, but now it is understood that Joel Glazer has spoken to the 46 year old privately to assure him that they had his family’s support going forward.
On the pitch, United have responded well with two high profile wins in their last two matches, first beating Spurs, managed by former Old Trafford boss Jose Mourinho, and then travelling to the Etihad on Sunday where they turned in their best performance of the season to defeat their neighbours City.
