Chelsea could be set to buy back Nathan Aké who they sold to Premier League rivals Bournemouth two years ago.
The 24 year old was sold by the Blues to the South Coast side for £20 million in 2017, but the transfer agreement included a buy-back clause which Chelsea may be ready to activate.
Manager Frank Lampard has indicated that he is ready to spend some of the £150 million available to him now that Chelsea’s transfer ban has been lifted by CAS (The Court of Arbitration for Sport), with defence believed to be a priority, especially in the wake of their disappointing 3 -1 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park at the weekend.
Aké has played in every Premier league game for Bournemouth since his permanent move from Chelsea two years ago, but that run might be about to come to an end after he was taken off with a hamstring injury during the first half of Saturday’s home defeat to Liverpool.
