Norwich defender Ben Godfrey could become Jose Mourinho’s first signing as Tottenham manager.
The 21 year old has made 15 appearances for the Canaries this season, and has also found his way into the England under-21 squad.
Spurs are potentially in the market for reinforcements at centre-back – with both Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld so far refusing to commit to new deals at the club. The White Hart Lane side have a big decision to make about the pair of them if they do not put pen to paper soon – either sell them in January, or allow them to leave on a free transfer in January.
If they do decide to cash in, then Godfrey – who is rated at £25 million – could be one of the men to fill the gap, with Davidson Sancho and young Argentine Juan Foyth also ready to play in central defence as well.
